Examples of restoration/conservation work carried out on enamel objects.

Case study for the Faberge parasol handle

Condition

Faberge parasol handle c1900. Gold and rose pink enamel over guilloche ground with green spots on gold ‘cushions’. The enamel layers at the base of the handle had been crushed.

Treatment

Damaged enamel layers were removed by hand picking
Rose pink enamel layers were applied with layers of colour matched Fynebond epoxy resin.
Missing 24 carat gold restored and green spots applied with colour matched resin.
All polishing was done with Micromesh polishing cloths and Greygate polish.
